Easter Assembly Term 1
Event Documentation & Media by Haziel Antonio and Owen Arnold.
It’s been a long nine weeks, warming into school, but it went by quick. Ending the term on a good note, Emmanuel held a whole school easter assembly.
The assembly kicked off with a praise and worship, played by our dear Mrs Pascal and Ms Brett. With rows upon rows, it must’ve been pretty nerve racking!
A warm and loud welcome to Pastor Warren Young, who started continuing the good mood of the assembly with laughter and his great jokes, we talked about what makes Easter so special and the hard sacrifices made by Jesus to show his love for us.
Many classes wanted to end the year well by showing and sharing what they did in class. ¾ made candle holders and followed it up with a lovely song, Light of the world. And drawings done by the grade six class following the seasons, great art!
And a Congratulations to the term one staff award winners, Mrs Brett, Ms Lyle and Mrs French.
Finally ending up the assembly with delicious hot cross buns served to all grades and parents, the last day of term one came to an end.
Have a great easter from Emmanuel and the Media crew!
28/03 Interschool Chess Tournament
(Written by Owen Arnold & Haziel Antonio.)
On Tuesday 28th March, our chess inquiry group ventured to the chess interschool tournament at MacKillop Catholic College. With Mr.Skierka running the emmanuel inquiry chess team, they ventured to play chess with other schools.
With a tough finish, friends school ended up winning, but good sportsmanship is always important, so congrats to them! We went over and asked some questions referring to the tournament and here were the general answers.
It was a great day for the chess club, many students were able to see others they knew and even went against some. The way the tournament worked was everyone going against each other, if you were to win you’d continue to go against someone else who won! If you were to lose, well you’d go against another who lost. There were 7 rounds of games, unfortunately, emmanuel lost in both categories.
